I took a week off from my job. I was still in some pain when I went back but it soon went away. I am one month out and have lost 44 lbs so far. In my book it was so worth it.

I am having 3 weeks off and longer if I need it. I have a stressful job and won't go back until I know I can handle the level of work I am used to... so thinking about it, maybe 2019 lol. :P

Keep smiling

Kate

I have a desk job and I was back at work on day 11. Probably could have gone back at day 9, but I'd already scheduled the days off.

I've read about some, who were back at work after 3 days, and some who were off for weeks.

But it'd be a safe bet to assume you could be back at work within 14 days.

I have a desk job where I sit at a computer all day long. It's very stressful. Many days I am shuffling between buildings for meetings. To keep my sanity and heal, I was able to be signed off for 4 weeks. I used FMLA to keep my job and getting paid from my disability insurance. It's your money. My wife and I saved ahead of time to be sure we had a month worth of bills saved in the bank. I will say that at 2 weeks I felt myself. But glad I took the time off I was able to relax go to support groups and focus on me. I know the talk about the sleeve even my doctor said his wife went back to work 4 days later. However it is abdominal surgery, major surgery. It takes 6 to 8 weeks for the belly to fully heal per my nutritionist

I took 11 days. I could have gone back at 7 but was glad I had the time off. My job is more sedentary so I knew going into it that I would be fine. Also I had healed very well from prior surgeries.

Everyone is different but the average I see is a week, only you know your body and how well you do. Good luck!

And also keep in mind that the hospital usually let u know in the discharge paperwork the first 10 days after discharge is the most critical. You are at risk for blood clots and strokes. U don't know how your body will react. If you get signed off for 4 weeks and feel better in two weeks then you can go back to work with your doctor signing off on the fitness for duty.

One i learned from my career and I am a social worker. Work do not care about you. If you die at work they will roll you over and fill your position with another person, whom they can find very easily. Don't think that you are most important to them, you are still important to you. That's my soap box for today.

I just had my surgery Thursday (July 16) I took 7 days off, counting the weekends that would give me 11 days recovery time before I have to go back to work. to be honest, today is Sunday and I could go back to work tomorrow. I have felt fine every since I left the hospital. Im sure another week at home and I'll be crazy lol

I took 2 weeks off and was on light duty for another 4 weeks because I do patient care and had the 10 pound lifting restriction. I could have gone back sooner, but it was nice to have the time to work out my eating/drinking schedule and make sure I was getting in my walking before I went back to work.

I freelance, so I ended up doing a little work the night I arrived home because I was bored and unable to sleep.

I have minimal pain and discomfort but walking long distances and the heat zaps my energy very quickly.

If you had a desk job where you didn't have to talk much, and didn't have to do a lot of walking I think you should be fine.

Energy levels are down though, so taking a nap in the afternoon is almost a necessity.

I had my surgery on a Friday and took the week after off. I have a desk job. I was sore but towards the end of the 2nd week I was feeling better. Never realized how much getting up and down I did all day long lol was was a little uncomfortable. Looking back now I would have done 2 weeks.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
