I didn't have any bleeding before surgery but the first 3-4 months after surgery I started have a very light period again. Now I'm back to no period ????????

This is the number of pounds I lost each month:

Pre-op diet - 13.8

Month 1 - 21.8

Month 2 - 8.6

Month 3 - 8.6

Month 4 - 8.0

Month 5 - 7.1

Month 6 - 4.7

Month 7 - 5

Month 8 - 10

I'm 14 pounds from my goal weight. I don't think my Mirena caused my weight loss to be slow. I've always been a slow loser because of PCOS. But I'm still happy with my Mirena and sleeve surgery. Just had my annual pap and gyno was happy with my success.

As a former medical assistant for an ob/gyn, and former marina recipient, I can almost guarantee you it's hormones. Surgery makes them crazy. I bet after a few months or cycles, you'll be worked out again.

It's not unusual for obese woman to have polycystic ovarian syndrome. After weight loss this issue can improve and you will have a change in you're menstrual cycle. Fat stores estrogen.I am a disabled RN and 8 months post sleeve. I have lost well over 120 lbs good luck . Maybe make appointment with GYN.

I had this issue. It's from all the release of Estrogens that are stored in the fat cells you're shedding! Mine resolved after a few months. I didn't have any of the other issues mentioned above (Cycst, fibroids).

I had a little bit of spotting for about a week after WLS. Someone posted an article about how it's from the rapid weight loss and the excess estrogen. I also got a zit! But my body sorted itself out after about a week. I've even had my old Mirena taken out a new one put in since WLS, and no issues other than brief spotting again.

I also had a light period occur about 1 week postop which surprised me since I hadn't had one for >1 year with my Mirena. I think it's just the body's reaction to the stress.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
