I am approaching the 3 month mark for my surgery and today while washing my hair in the shower I had clumps of hair come out in my hands. Fun fun! Maybe it will show as weight loss on the scale LOL.

The price we have to pay sometimes for a healthier body is extreme. I'm still pre op myself but, I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for that day.

Sounds like you're right on schedule from what I've heard, and at least you know that it won't last forever. But I commiserate with your loss! Good luck!

Yes, it lasted from months 3-6 for me. My sprouts are about 1 inch long now so my hair looks funny, especially in the front. It takes a lot of of hairspray to hold them down because they want to stick straight up.

Hang in there! I hear it doesn't last forever and it will grow back. Make sure you are getting in enough Protein as sometimes that makes it worse. Good luck! I am dreading when I get there...lol

Ugh. An unwanted side effect. I'm hoping the Biotin I've been taking for a year and will be taking post op will help me avoid it. We shall see.

I was three months on Wednesday and I'm losing mine too. I have really long hair and it's annoying. And scary. I really like my hair and my husband loves it. I've made peace with it being thinner but I'm hoping I don't have holes or places my scalp shows. I even have nightmares about that. At least it's temporary and it comes back right????

It does not last forever.. Mine was falling out around 3 months. Got my hair cut short and then I did not notice it so bad. All that hair in the bathroom almost tipped me over. Lol it stopped at about 5 months. Can't even tell I had Hair loss now at 7 months.

Ok here. I'll give you a visual. The first picture is showing where I lost the most and combed forward to show where the new growth is coming in. The second pic shows how I normally wear it to disguise the thinning. Sometimes I use powder too if it's sticking up and my scalp is showing a lot. This is 8+ months out. I also have PCOS and very VERY fine hair so I didn't have a lot to begin with. But it doesn't bother me too much. It's actually thickening up a bit now.

I know I'm repeating everything you know but make sure you take your Vitamins &

extra Calcium. I also started taking Biotin and using Nixon Shampoo and conditioner to

help.

I'm getting sleeved on August 31 and my nutritionist and I spoke about this and she recommended 50 mg of Zinc... But I had to also double check with my Endocrinologist to see if it wouldn't interact with my other meds.... She said Biotin is good for getting the hair healthy but the Zinc is what makes it strong at the root... Ask your team and see what they say

If you take zinc, you have to take it away from Iron. Or it won't absorb

It has been a month and it is still falling out like crazy. I don't have bald spots but my hair is getting really thin. Will this stop eventually?

Buy a wig. My Hair loss lasted forever and has never filled in at my hair line. I did everything right.

Saw my doc today. He said it is not permanent and new growth will begin. He said don't waste money on supplements or shampoos. It will come back on its own. I guess I need to be patient and see.

Good luck! It has been two years without Hair growth for me. The wig saved my sanity.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
