Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in a while. I've been doing my 6 month supervised diet and just got a surgery date. August 24th is when I will be sleeved if everything goes well. But now that I have the date I'm freaking out!!! I'm having serious doubts about what the hell am I going to do to myself?! I'm TERRIFIED that I'm going to put myself through this and then not be able to keep the weight off in the future! I have a weak mind when it comes to food and sweets as I'm sure many people do and I'm sooooo scared that it's going to keep me from keeping the weight off! ????????????

I'm also getting sleeved on Aug

24th also. Look through some before and after pics and ask yourself again if you want to do this. It is a tool and not a quick fix. Have you lost weight before only to regain plus more. I have time and time again! I don't have diabetes yet but I'm pretty sure without surgery it'd just be a matter of time. I want this for me first. I want to love myself. I want quit criticizing myself and limiting myself from doing things I want to do. I want to feel like I am truly LIVING again and not just surviving. I truely belive this tool will help me get there and for once stay there. Being a happier healthier person will be good for me, my husband, my children, my job, and my friends. Don't limit yourself. Stop telling yourself you can't. You owe yourself more. It's a major irreversible surgery. It's normal to be nervous. Your self talk seems to be trying to give up on you before you even get the chance. Talk back to it! Tell yourself you CAN. List reasons why. Good luck- hope you can be one of my surgery buddies!

Nothing ventured nothing gained. You owe yourself the opportunity, given your last few months of hard work in obtaining approval. Ultimately the choice is yours, but there are so many people who would love to be in your shoes. The best to you! I know you'll do what is best for you.

I am with 1SlimmerMe, the choice is yours.

But ask yourself these 2 questions:

1. Do I want to be in the same condition or worse a year from now?

2. What am I willing to do to change my situation?

I ask myself these 2 questions whenever I have to make a life changing decision.

Well one thing I can tell from my own personal experience is that I used to live on sweets. I would often eat multiple candy bars a day and if it had sugar in it, I ate it.

Now after surgery sweets are just not appetizing. I've tried a bite of things here and there and yuck. My tastes really changed. Ice cream is the worst - now it's totally sickening.

Thank you all for the feedback! @@hockeyfan7 I pray that that happens to me too! I'm so addicted to sweets and that's what scares me most!
