I'm seven weeks out... 41 pounds lost... And now suddenly for almost a week, I'm nauseated ALL THE TIME!!! It started when I went out of town last weekend and back to work Tuesday and I feel life crap, exhausted, throwing up... Basically catching hell and I don't know why???!!!! I know I've had to eat out but I still try to be careful of what I eat, and now I barely eat cuz I feel so badly... Didn't have these issues in the beginning... Any one with thoughts? Or been through this ¿

I'm 3 months out. I was out of town all last week on vacation. I didn't eat like I'm use to not only what I ate but when I ate. My schedule was way off. The last few days was tough. I wasn't sleeping good at night. I paid for it through last weekend and I could barely function today. I'm tired. I spent a couple of days nauseous. My eating went back to basics this week. Lot of soft bland food. I'm hoping I am just having a hard time bouncing back. In addition to all of this I had a mirena iud put in two weeks ago and I fear some of this feeling is me still adjusting to the hormones. Ready for a weekend at home for sure!

I'm so sorry and so happy for response at the same time... Going outta town and eating weird food really can throw you off terribly... I kinda thought that was it but it's been almost a week... I'm still thrown off... Best of luck to both of us!!! ????

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
