lisa0617 54 Posted July 16, 2015 I had gained a lot of weight on steroids and was experiencing joint pain and my pcp sent me to a rheumatologist. I saw him for 3 years while I lost weight and came off the medication. Would this count?
hockeyfan7 249 Posted July 17, 2015 If you can get him to write a letter stating what you were doing and that he was supervising it, it should. I didn't really have supervised weight loss technically. In the past I had done Weight Watchers and counted calories using MFP so my PCP just signed a letter I wrote stating that I had been following this program and she had supervised it. Nora82 11 Posted July 22, 2015 Insurance companies just want to see weight loss discussion in your visit notes with your doctor. If the doctor put in his note that he gave you exercise handouts that counts as supervised weight loss. I'm an insurance coordinator for the surgeon who did my sleeve and most insurance companies aren't real picky.

lisa0617 54 Posted September 3, 2015 I will be done with all my required visits and tests minus 2 months of supervised nutrition. My coordinator is going to submit the notes I gave her but she thinks I will need a visit in nov and dec
