xylena88 6 Posted July 16, 2015 So I am scheduled to meet with my PCP on 7/23 for my first of 6 required appointments. I spoke with the bariatric coordinator and we have my Pre Op scheduled for 10/21. We are trying to get my surgery scheduled for 12/17, so that we do not go into the new year. My question is this, do I just tell my PCP that I need to have my diet documented? The key thing is I need this to start in July for this to work. For those who have had their PCP document their required diet plan, how did it work? Any info is helpful, thanks!

Dub 9,922 Posted July 17, 2015 The program's nurse was the first person I saw on any of the appointments. She had everything laid out that my insurance company was going to require. The second appointment was with the Doctor two weeks later....and then the third appointment was actually with the program's nutritionist and that is what actually began my 6 months. It took a month to get to this appointment and it was on July 7th. I've got six of these to get through and there is no certainty that it'll happen for me in December. Sure would be nice if that was the case....but sucks if it doesn't.....but the surgery will happen either way. My insurance only covers 50% of the cost. Having the deductible reset in January is going to slam me. I"m saving my arse off for it now. Hope you are able to jump in the game faster than I was able to.
