lollikinz 1 Posted July 15, 2015 Hello everyone! My name is Lolly and I'm a 44 years young single mom of 2 great kids, a girl and a boy, ages 21 and 16 respectively. I just found this app so this is my first post. I'm thrilled to say that I had my gastric bypass on July 10th and thankfully everything went very smoothly! I'm on day 8 of Clear liquids (had to be on them for 3 days before surgery) and I feel like I'm going out of my mind! Has anyone else struggled with this? I have to be on them for another 4 freakin' days and I'm SO not looking forward to it. I'm literally feeling depressed and annoyed all the time. Is this unusual? I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issues or am I just being a baby? I honestly had no idea it would be this difficult, but when friends and family regularly talk about and eat various foods that I love around me, it has become really frustrating. By the way, my start weight was 299, and I'm down to 289 already, but I'm pretty sure that's all just Water weight so far. Anywho, I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully meet some nice people throughout this process. So it's nice to "meet" you all! Lolly

staceylynn315 4 Posted July 16, 2015 I had GB July 8th and this liquid diet is killing me. My husband made chicken tonight and the house smelled amazing. I got a lil irritated and down. I can't wait for this stage to be over. It's hard to have a positive attitude when your miserable but I try my hardest and always remember why I chose this journey. Good Luck. MacksMom2009 6 Posted July 16, 2015 Oh my goodness, I am so with you! Had my bypass on July 8. I had to do a two week liquid diet prior to surgery and now that i am a week and a day post-op, I am so over the liquid diet stage. I will be seeing my doctor and nutritionist next Tuesday when at that time I expect they will "graduate" me to pureed food. Can't come soon enough. My emotions are a roller coaster. I feel tired and yup, cranky. I actually miss chewing. Can't seem to seep well. I don't think your being a baby at all. This is tough!!! But I just keep my eye on the prize. I can make it and I know you can too. Hang in there!!

Ariananica 4 Posted July 17, 2015 I just had my surgery on July 14, gas pain was awful, but now am annoyed because I feel dizzy, is that normal?
MacksMom2009 6 Posted July 17, 2015 I am not sure what "normal" is, but I can tell you that I have experienced it as well. I am getting in my liquids, my Protein rest when I am tired, and yet I still am experiencing lightheadedness. My doctor gave me a prescription for nausea and it seemed to help with the dizzy/lightheadness. I can tell you it has got better each day, but even a week post-op I am still experiencing it to some extent
kempermorris 144 Posted July 17, 2015 I think you can have popsicles on clear broth diet. sugar free popsicles. I was only on clear broth a couple of days. It's hard but so worth it. I'm 7 months post op & have lost 122 lbs so far.

Dibaby44 63 Posted July 19, 2015 I think it makes it so much worse that we cant do much at this stage. Just lay there on the couch healing and watching those damn food commercials. Ugh. I suggest keeping as busy as possible. This is more a mind game then anything else. Have to just decide food is not important anymore. I know its hard. Im 3 weeks out. Im there with you.
