janefrank 3 Posted July 15, 2015 Anyway else used Medicare to pay for surgery. I know it is 6 month weight? Any exceptions?
embernj 1 Posted July 15, 2015 I have read a few ppl say 3 months, is the new requirement. I have Medicare as well, but my surgeons office hasn't addressed this part with me.
#9grammy 274 Posted July 15, 2015 I have Medicare, it was a six month wait for me. But they did the surgery before they got the approval. So Medicare didn't pay the doctor, all I paid was 240.00 for the co-pay.
jallen1231 59 Posted July 15, 2015 I used Medicare and there was no wait. I had a BMI over 40.
janefrank 3 Posted July 15, 2015 Thanks for the answers. They told me 6 months, but once they got my records from the VA which is my PC I may not have to wait 6 months. Already had Psychiatry and sleep test and 1st meeting with surgeon. Have another appt with Surgeon office Monday maybe get some more clarification.
