I had a mild case of lymphedema before I had the VSG. Now the swelling in my legs have gone down so much. Almost completely healed. But I still have discoloration. I was wondering if anybody had or has a similar situation and has any tips on products or remedies to help with the discoloration? I do exercise and walk to help with blood flow. But other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Probably still a reaction to healing skin. Could be the tiny capillaries sustained some damage, thus the redness. Try aloe and Vitamin e oil. I have a mixture of vitamin E oil, coconut oil, and castor oil mixed in equal thirds. I keep it in a small bottle. Read up on the benefits of each and decide for yourself. Mine has removed skin tags, lightened dark pigmentation and helped with lash and brow growth. Massage on skin topically, not orally. Also read about any precautions. Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

Ryan, are the discoloration a spotted almost? I had some pretty bad swelling in my legs before surgery that has mostly gone away, but my doctor said the spots wouldn't go away :( if you find something that works, let me know!!!

Hi Ryan, i have primary lymphoedema on both lower limbs. My lymphoedema has significantly decreased but not gone away. I am left with discolouration - red to almost black in some areas of my legs due to the severe swelling for such a long time (6 years) I asked my specialist if this discolouration would go away, they themselves did not know.

Keep us posted. My legs have shrunk a lot. At least my right leg has shrunk rapidly, my left one is still much larger than my right. I have some Palmers coconut oil with E. I don't know if it will help with discoloration but it makes my skin softer. I also recently got a dry brush that I am hoping will help with the flaky skin and circulation.
