Most people have loose skin. No, there isn't a whole lot you can do about it besides trying exercise to tone it up a little. Surgery is always an option once you've hit goal and maintained a while. I think the younger you are, and the less weight you have to lose helps with loose skin, but it's just part of the process for most.

Just like with the loose skin, how the girls hold up is also about age and how much you need to lose. But boobs are mostly made up of fatty tissue, so you loose fat, you loose boobs. The more you have to lose, the more boobage you lose. Hopefully you're on the younger side, so they may hold up.

hair loss happens to most. Some lose a little, some lose a lot. I started at 5 months, and now at 11 months, it's stopped. I have thick hair, so me and my hairdresser were really the only ones who could tell :) Once again, not a lot you can do about it. Some will swear by this or that, but nothing has been proven to really stop it or slow it.

The common theme? All those things you questioned are pretty much part of the whole WLS process, and there really is not a lot you can do to prevent them. Looking at the big picture, it's a small price to pay to become a healthy, normal weight.

I'm 24 and I asked my Dr if he thought how bad weight loss would be he said considering I have a lot of muscle and I work out constantly he doesn't think I'll be to bad at 21 I got a Tummy Tuck cause I was in my prime athlete years in college hopefully everything stays "ok" I weight lift now I'm pretty solid but still struggle with weightloss tho

You're young and athletic. Your skin and boobs may hold up okay. I also know that tummy tucks hold up well after weight loss, too.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery! Keep us posted!

My hair started out baby fine and thin. I'm losing hair at warp speed now and scared that I'll end up bald. I'm 6 1/2 months out of sleeve surgery. Any ideas?

I never seem to get a reply. I'll probably not participate in this blog anymore.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
