I'm going to go ahead and say ahead of time I'm NOT good with the whole jP drain thing. I actually took my own out after this VSG. I couldn't take it anymore. I called and told them I was pulling it and then I did. Omg I felt 1000 times better!!!

@Elode....... Thanks... I could not be happier with the results........ i wasn't going to post this here.... but what the hell... an ass is an ass ... right. We are all friends.... lol

anyway, the scar is so not even noticeable. I told my husband i will be getting the reduction.. whether he likes it or not. Tired of carrying these 34H's They are too big for the rest of my body and i look like i have porn star implants... which i don't... but still

i had a lower body lift - drains are a MUST. just ask people who developed seromas or excess swelling....

So, not all plastic surgeries are alike. Results will also depend on "where you started"

I definately learned it is more of an art than a science!

@Elode.... You are so kind... Thanks. I am 5 2.5. Don't forget the half. My weight at time of tt was 145Ish. My lowest was 140. I am now 150 and have been for over a year. I still wear a size 8 jeans comfortably. Can squeeze into a 6 but 8 is better.

I was expecting a lot more pain, but I would be lying if I said it was painful. Was it a piece of cake..... No but it was not unbearable at all. I drank lots of pineapple juice for swelling wore my garment 24 hours for 8 weeks. I only took off for showers. I taped the jumbo Kotex pads together and placed across the incision for padding.

OH... and the key to a nice scar.... lotion lotion lotion.... doesn't matter what one... just LOTION!!!

Yes on the pineapple for swelling!!! If you don't want the sugar you can take Bromelain supplements which is the same. I did that and arnica, turmeric and tart cherry supplements and the swelling wasn't nearly as bad as I thought!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
