I haven't lost any inches on my legs or arms and it's extremely annoying. How long was it before you started losing there?

I think it's all individual and how you carry your weight. I'm only 2.5 weeks out and already down 2" on my thighs (where I carry a lot of weight.) If you're more an apple shape, you may lose it off your abdomen first.

I have a week where I lose weight on the scale but clothes feel the same and then I don't see the scale move and can get into clothing from 2007....it varies for me:D

There are several factors which can affect this, your muscle, skin, where your body stores fat depends on cortisol and other hormones. You can't spot reduce (if you could, you would see huge difference between Serena Williams racket/non racket arms), but staying hydrated, protein/diet and exercise will eventually get the inches off.

I'm losing inches, it's just been all in the middle area which I'm not complaining about, I love it. I just wish something would happen in the other areas too.

I'm 3 and a half months out

I will be 5 months out 7/20, I have lost inches everywhere but my hips. I've gone from a DD cup to a C cup. I went from a 26/28 women's down to a 14. But these hip are hanging on for dear life. They have lost a few inches but nothing compared to the rest of my body.

Stating wt 285-- HT 5'3"

DOS 2/20 Wt. was 267, today 198. I think it's just a natural thing with WLS patients to be impatient with losing weight/inches. FYI, I'm a horrible Protein drinker, can't stand the stuff. but for the last couple of days I have forced it down my throat.

2½mos after surgery I developed blood clots in both lungs and pneumonia in the left lung which delayed my workout routine. When I was jogging/walking everyday for at least a mile, the inches were melting away. Now I'm at a stand still. Have started exercising vigorously again this past week.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
