ashleybrady87 16 Posted July 13, 2015 I'm currently ten weeks post op RNY and a little over one week since my first endoscopy and dilation of a stricture they found. I have only been able to tolerate yogurt and Premier Protein shakes since day one and have been unable to move to solid food. I'm regretting my decision to have the surgery as I'm still unable to eat and only manage to get around 400 calories a day from my two shakes and two yogurts. My question is when did you start to be able to tolerate and eat solid food? I would love to hear some feedback from those of you who had complications with strictures. Arielle Phoenix 12 Posted July 13, 2015 So sorry honey!!! How miserable! It took me a long time too. I didn't have a stricture, but my intestines reacted badly to the procedure, open long- limb RNY. They shut down my whole GI tract and refused to function. It was exasperating! I had to go back in for hydration after dumping and dumping. It was miserable! It did settle down, eventually! It's unique to your body chemistry and anatomy. Hang in there! Stay close to your doc! That's a very little amount of calories! Stay hydrated and watch for signs of dizziness and low blood sugar, blood pressure. Stay safe! You will make it! This isn't surgery for the faint of heart, to be sure! You are not alone!️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
