Worst Restaurant Food You Ordered?

Recommended Posts

Buddy was in town this week and wanted to go to Nic's in OKC. Possibly one of the best burgers in the world he tells me. (It is is famous: http://newsok.com/nics-grill-the-best-burger-you-may-never-get/article/3809904).

So I get the burger...three bites and I'm done, my buddy (tall skinny guy) eats the whole thing. I take the rest home to my daughter who enjoyed the rest of the burger over two meals and tells me "it was good going down, but now I feel like a bad person." Talk about a grease coma.

We lived in Latin America and there is a restaurant Andres Carne de Res. The food is delicious. In this one appetizer they make fresh fried chícharron served with a side if guacamole. Heart Attack in a bowl. But damn them little things were good!

Soapandcandlequeen,

Totally get it! It’s the worst to try so hard to order the right thing, and then find out you should have just ordered what you wanted for fewer calories, less fat, and more pleasure!

OKCPirate…good for you for eating three and only three bites! Must have made you proud!

Janet

How do you work eating out.. we have always gone out to eat and would like to a least once a week.. you can't eat much more than a 1/4 cup. Sooooooooo do you eat off his plate ? Order something just so you have your own plate. Split a burger?.

Wife and I either split a meal with her eating 3/4 of it, or I put the uneaten part of mine in a take-home box and get two more meals out of it. I am a very cheap date now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
