Cool, I'm in the Mesquite area, but that Jason's Deli is right down the street from hubby's work.

Hubby and I will try to make it.

Hi everyone, I just joined this site. I live in Red Oak, but work downtown at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I would love to have a support group. I have been banded since 2006, but am pretty much starting all over due to a bad Dr. Would love to talk to someone, everyone. :)

By the way, where do you get those weight loss tickers? I want one!

Hope to talk soon,

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

I live in Grand Prairie and I was just banded on 5/13/08. I am a member on the yahoo DFW Bandsters and this is also a great support group.

What doctor did you use? How much have you lost?

Gretta

Calling all DWF area banders!!!! Please Help..

My name is Jade 28 coming in from southwest Colorado..but don't get me wrong, I'm a southern girl from Bama:)

I am set for surgery on the 12th of Feb  But my flight arrives Wed. 10th.

Any friendly banders out there interested in meeting up and talking with me while I am in town pre-op?. I don't know the area at all and would hate to be stuck in a hotel room. drinks on me:)

No but for real i would really love some calming techniques for surgery, encouragement, and any personal experiences you might find helpful. Thanks so much..

Jade**

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
