I work in the NICU dept as a CNA and I work nights too! I don't eat at night whatsoever! I know it was hard at first and takes a lot of motivation but trust me its possible! What I've been doing is bringing with me a 24oz bottle that came with my nutribullet and filling it with my Protein meal drink. When I get hungry I just reach for my drink and take small sips or drink half of it so that I have enough for lunch. I'm not sure how far you are into this process but this would be the best thing I could recommend for you. This has honestly helped me a lot and I no longer eat at night even when I'm not working. Let me know if you try this and how you liked or didn't like it.

Hi. But if you are active and working at night, what difference does it make? Your living hour change to mostly night. You have to eat at some point. You would be sleeping during the day. It also depends on what stage of the process you are in. May be it would be good you do your Protein Shake at work with a very light meal. Ex: I consider a light meal small green apple with 2 oz of white cheese strings. Hope that helps.????

I have been working rotating shifts for over 20 years now, so "night" time is always changing for me. I usually just have a Protein shake/smoothie about an hour or so after waking up (whenever that is), then will have a light meal about 6 hours after waking up, then a more substantial "dinner" about 4-6 hours before bedtime. I don't really think it makes much difference what time the clock says. For me.....snacking before bedtime is more of a concern.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
