TXMissy 211 Posted July 12, 2015 This just started. I eat and all is well, then boom I feel horrible. I have no energy, I just want to go to sleep. Walking or standing is work. I'm so scared I'm going to collapse. It last for about 20 minutes and then it passes. I feel fine. Is anyone else experiencing this?
little_mrs 145 Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) Sounds like dumping. That happens to me if I have too many carbs or have something sweet Edited July 12, 2015 by little_mrs
TXMissy 211 Posted July 12, 2015 Oh great!! I am going to keep an eye on it. I see the surgeon on the 23rd. I guess it could be. I had grilled chicken wings and I took 2 of my husbands French fries. I'm very careful about what I eat, but I couldn't resist tonight. This isn't the first time this happened And normally it's Protein and veggies.
little_mrs 145 Posted July 12, 2015 Yeah I'm trying to figure it all out too. It's only happened to me a few times and I'm almost 8 months out but it's scary. Try and pay attention to what you eat when it happens and go from there ????

James Marusek 5,244 Posted July 12, 2015 Some of the symptoms you are describing could be due to low blood sugar. Some people suffer from low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) after surgery. This occurs in people who were diabetic or were not diabetic prior to surgery. You may be experiencing reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia (postprandial hypoglycemia) is low blood sugar that occurs after a meal — usually within four hours after eating. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) usually occurs while fasting. Signs and symptoms of reactive hypoglycemia may include hunger, weakness, shakiness, sleepiness, sweating, lightheadedness, anxiety and confusion.
debm56 1 Posted October 9, 2016 I have been experiencing low blood sugar now for a week and didn't realize what it was until I checked my blood and spoke with my surgeon's muse practitioner. I feel lousy!
