I'm so sick of water

Gatorade doesn't have carbonation^. The only reason it would be bad is the empty calories. Try G2 it is actually on my Dr. approved list of things to drink.

You know I once read on this site that someone had tried the coke flavored icee drink that you get at convenience stores. That might satisfy the craving ( not sure how much carbonation is left in it after the process) I am also pretty sure it has calories, but maybe it will be one and done. Lucky for me the carbonation demon left me during my pre-op stage when I was told to stop drinking sodas etc.

There is great controversy right now that the combination of ingredients and sweeteners in G2 is not good for us, especially those on diets, but I also had it approved on my surgeon's list, maybe I'm just over cautious now because I look at everything I put in me now? Oh well Powerade, and Propel work just as well

I am very curious what the problem ingredients in G2 are purported to be. It is just a reduced calorie version of Gatorade with artificial sweeteners replacing some of the regular sugars. I don't see what the big deal is.

I have been drinking Bai5 Antioxidant Infusions. 10 Cals per bottle, 2 Net Carbs per serving. It is made with coffeefruit, the fruit around a coffee bean. Has about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of green tea. I buy by the case at costco.

I have found that I drink more Water if it is very cold. I fill Water bottles 2/3 full and keep them in the freezer, taking them out a couple a day. I also put lime slices in water. I usually use crystal light lemonade or pink lemonade at about half strength.

My favorite is thin cucumber slices in a pitcher of ice Water. I can easily drink a lot of water that way.

I love infused Water (water with strawberries, lemons, blueberries, cucumber, mint, you can try any variation!).

I also like some sugar free kool aid once in awhile, breaks up the monotony.. You can get the little ones that you spray into your Water and mix..

Iced tea is another favorite.

I mostly drink plain water, and very VERY cold.. always have.. but sometimes just a little of these things helps.

Ok, I haven't tried this yet, but I was in the dr office for my 6 week follow-up today and I was talking to a patient who is 1 year out RNY. She told me she makes a good shake with the Premier Protein vanilla, 1/2 banana, ice and Orange Crush liquid Water Enhancer (Found at Walmart). I can't have the banana just yet (and not sure you can either), but it made me think I wanted to post this new find. I am sure it would be good just plain in your Water too. They also have Grape and strawberry. It does have sucralose (Splenda I think). Just thought I would pass this on...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
