Two week Liquid Pre OP Diet ~~YUM~~

Just wanted to share this lovely broth recipe with you all, just in case you are sick of Protein Drinks ;) I have made this a few times and freeze the veg after draining the pan and save for the family to use. It really is tasty.

It will be nice for after too. I am going to see if I can add unflavoured Protein to it as well... I will let you know how that goes!

2 med onion skinned and finely chopped.

2 med carrot scrubbed and diced.

100g (2 oz) turnip scrubbed and diced.

100g (2 oz ) parsnip scrubbed and diced.

8 celery sticks washed and chopped.

Cabbage. (the greener the better )

Mushrooms. (nice full flavoured ones)

Tomatoes (full flavoured ones ~ vine are nice)

Pepper

Fry onions in a bit of Water, add veg and cover with water. Bring to boil and then simmer for 1 hr 30.

Then I would strain the veg from the stock.

If you add Protein Powder to it, watch the temp. I have read that above 140 degrees will cause the Protein to clump. (And the protein certainly is needed!)
