Hey Kell778 ! And anyone having the same plateau blues, don't you guys worry!! I started this thread about a week ago and now that I'm eating more food for some reason I have started to lose again. So please don't lose hope. I have had the same struggles in feeling that my pouch was too big or that they didn't do the surgery right. The other day though I had a piece of turkey and forgot myself. I didn't chew it up very well and finally had the stuck feeling people have talked about. I felt like I was about to dry heave it out. Don't let this happen to you. It was very very uncomfortable. Just remember normal people don't lose pounds every day so if you're not losing every single day, don't panic, the weight will come off. Stay strong drink your Water as I've said before and take time to chew your food and no grazing. Take time to eat your meal and fill your pouch. Your metabolism will rev up once it has more to work with. I promise. I'm back on the losers bench and I know you guys will join me soon. Keep it up guys! you're doing great and trust your bodies.

Lotuslady32: thank you. I too feel exactly like kell778. I can not tell either if I'm full. I'm never hungry, its frustrating. Everything I've tolerated, I don't get gas, no pain, just keep doing everything I'm suppose to. I hope this metabolism kicks in, before the surgery I had none...

This is so crazy coming across this because I was literally just going to post the same sort of thing. I'm 2 weeks exactly today and am down 16 pounds. I've been at the same weight 3 days in a row. Not complaining and I know it's so early but I don't really know what to expect. I almost feel like I'm not eating enough. My diet is all about Protein but I'm only conditions about 300-400 calories a day. Normal or no?

Alisiak: I'm 16 days since surgery, 15 lbs down and stuck at the same weight. Driving me crazy! They say its a normal plateau. We need to just continue what were doing. This can be frustrating. I measure my food out...mostly Protein. I take my Calcium and Vitamins. And keep doing what I'm doing, hopefully I'll start losing soon!

Totally frustrated...that damn scale still is not moving. Going to gym every night. Doing 1.5 miles on treadmill and some weights. I'm beginning to feel like this is like every other diet. Im still never hungry, can't tell when full. I know this is a tool to allow me to lose weight...but this tool does not seem to be working. When does this great weight lose start to happen???

Leanne1126: were you referring to my post? Its been like 10 days and scale has not budged! I feel its too soon for a plateau. I'm almost 1 month out from surgery. This is about where all diets fail for Me. Its so frustrating!!!

Yes jewels 11 I was. I lost 37 lbs in the first month. Once I was released to do real exercise the scale stopped. I was at 1 month also. After a few weeks I reached out to my doctors office and they said it's likely I'm building muscle and to watch my inches. I have definitely lost inches but the scale has not been gracious. I actually go today for a follow up. My surgery date was may 1st. I'm hoping to see the lbs drop on their scale given the exercise I've been doing. I go to zumba, zumba toning, spin classes and walk on the off days. It's soooooo frustrating but the clothes are fitting differently.

Well that's definitely great! I don't feel my clothes fitting different. I don't look like I'm losing any more. I was losing as long as I was on the liquid portion of it then add food and everything stop!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
