I went from the sleeve and had the bypass wed I'm so nervous about this change has anyone been through this... I had a lot of scar tissue they took out and revision me to the bypass bc acid reflux. .. I'm in so much pain

With my sleeve I lost 110 pounds and gained about 30 back my doctor said I should lose what I have gained plus more.. he said the eating and other things is different from the sleeve..I don't want to be sick

i was advised by my (now retired) surgeon that if the Gerd that i have developed since being sleeved gets worse that i will have to be revised to a bypass. This scares me as i have already been through a revision from lapband to sleeve. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Wishing you all the best with your health xox

OK I haven't had revision. I went straight to bypass but let me say this - if you managed to lose 110 pounds with sleeve, you totally got this. A lot of the same rules apply (from what I understand). Protein, fluids, exercise. If you have not done so, get a meeting with your NUT ASAP. And I would recommend seeing a therapist to in order to help with the adjustment which sounds like it came on very quickly. Deep breaths. We have complete and utter faith in you. In fact, you can teach us newbies a lot! Hugs!!

@@teamskinny_keea - No wonder you are nervous! It took me months to get used to the idea of having bypass, so I can only imagine how you feel when you were told as you were going in to surgery in addition to the issues you had. I am really sorry that happened! But again, you can totally do this. Remember how you started with sleeve and then your NUT will help you with the transitions.

So if you were going in for surgery, what kind if surgery did you think you were having?

They was going to see about my scar tissue and seeing what else was wrong

Did they not do endoscopy or barium swallow first? I find that odd that you would go in for exploratory surgery and come out with a bypass.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
