I am a recent sleever, ( June 8th ) and I was so blessed to find Vaping as an easier way to quit smoking. You can start out with a higher nicotine level and then gradually down to zero nicotine. It completely took the urge away after over 30+ years of smoking almost two packs a day. You leave the anxiety and panic over quitting at the counter! I realize there are lots of people who don't understand vaping and will probably get attacked, but its so much better than taking the risks of medication that has side effects a mile long and you can't take it if you suffer from anxiety and depression. I think there are a lot of us with weight issues that would fall into this category. So I have found a juice company that is willing to help and give anyone on here a major discount ( 25% off ) for the juices to help you get started. I am not advertising this company, just giving a gift.

Go to www.luxeliquidvapor.com and see the wide varieties they offer in the three lines they make. 100% USA made and award winning. Use discount code bpal for your discount.

I wish you much success!!

you both are doing so well with that habit. I never had it but my son does and I watched my mom die from throat cancer that started inn her mouth (from cigarettes). he has a vapor cig but I cant quite get him to kick the regular cigs to the curb. I have bought him the liquid with very little (or none) nicotine and he didn't notice. I know....wicked.

You vape even before surgery? I thought we was suppose to stop smoking two months before I know it was zero nicotine but I thought we couldn't even smoke that

That's how I quit 2 months before surgery, too! I even lost interest in vaping after I cut out the nicotine. Been 13 months smoke free :)

I don't get the hate for vaping. It's so much better than those nasty carcinogens found in cigarettes. It's just Water VAPOR. But still people are all up in arms about how we don't know the effects of long term vaping, and there's still a smell and BLAH BLAH BLAH.

It helps people quit. It's not poison like cigs are. I think they are a great alternative to lighting up. But people love to control people's lives and take away their personal freedoms any way they can.

Rant over.

I have a hex ohm box mod and an Atlantis tank. They are pretty spendy but works so good you never have to worry about getting another one. There are tons of other beginner ones out There. Hookah actually is tobacco so it's a completely different animal altogether

Congrats to the cig quitters. How come no one talks about the benefit of no cig butts all over? I see them everywhere and they certainly go down the sewer drains( to the ocean here)

Seems like no nicotine, no awful smell around and on you, and no butts=winning formula. I do know how addicting cigs are and I am in Favor of anything that helps!

Do you suppose big tobacco companies are pushing the agenda on no vapes? Just wondering.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
