I have felt pretty good and yesterday was able to get my Protein and Fluid requirements in. I woke up today and feel weak, shaky and just unwell? No fever and no worse pain? Almost feels like when you have a GI bug and that feeling? Anyone have this? Recommendations? Thx!

No it actually doesn't take that long typically half hour to sip. Ugh I can't have anything for another 2 weeks just the shakes and cl liq. I guess if I'm doing well at the 2 week mark I can add yogurt. How are you feeling overall? Hoping this gets better fast!

If you're diabetic, do you still take your medicine? What is your glucose level? If the blood sugar gets too low that can make you feel sick too. Also are you taking a Multivitamin? Your Iron may be low as well. I'm also post-op day 4

No I'm not diabetic but maybe my blood sugar dropped a bit? How are you feeling day 4? What's your activity level and pain?

You know I just took my Vitamins for the first time today so maybe that is it?

Still some tenderness at the incision sites, I am going to start walking the neighborhood today. I haven't really been going places, doing some light housework.

You just had major surgery. Youre going to have off days. In my experience with the several surgeries I've had, days 3 and 4 seem the worse. I've heard it has something to do with the anesthesia finally leaving your body.

Make sure you're staying hydrated. That is most important right now. People don't end up back in the hospital due to lack of protien, but lack of fluids.

Thank you! I appreciate your replies! I felt better and just got up again and feel weak so I am going to concentrate on fluids like you said! It's just a weird feeling! Hoping it passes soon-I am such a worry wort it is awful!!!

So the lack of energy and the overall blah feeling, is that normal? I don't have the energy to do anything. It really sucks!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
