Never happened before.whats happening,?? and when will it stop? Cant live my life smelling like an alley... P.s im.up to about 40 ounces of Water a day and prior to having surgery, if I only drank 8oz in a day, my urine NEVER smelled this way...
Elode 8,093 Posted July 9, 2015 I wouldn't think it would be that bad if your drinking 40 oz, you obviously need more BUT it could be from Vitamins if your taking any or medications? mrsjec 10 Posted July 9, 2015 Could be you in ketoacidosis?
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted July 9, 2015 Sounds like ketosis, at least the smell part. idk about the leaking.
NewMeLinZ 66 Posted July 9, 2015 I agree with Elode... Meds and not enough Water. Urine should be pale yellow to clear if you're hydrated enough. Drink all day long!!
nicolewilliams 16 Posted July 10, 2015 im going to increase it, try to get in atleast 64ounces. I cant live this way.
sleevenv 483 Posted July 10, 2015 Could it be a UTI? Some woman don't know they have one until it's really bad. I don't get the stereotypical spasms and pain anymore-I can tell from the smell! Check with your PCP.

BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted July 10, 2015 I think it's likely part from column A, part from column B. Part ketosis, part a side effect of the Vitamins and partly not getting enough Water. I try to go beyond my 64 of Fluid. I just aim for drinking until my urine is pale. For some reason post WLS it take a lot more water to get to that point than it did pre WLS. Soapandcandlequeen 124 Posted July 10, 2015 I have heard others talk about this. I too experience it when I do not get enough Water in.

Jb1176 79 Posted July 12, 2015 I had that problem before surgery and it was a UTI. Antibiotics cleared it up right away.
Hopscotch 57 Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) I don't know about the leaking, but I had the smell issue - my surgeon said it was ketones because our bodies are shedding weight so fast it choses every avenue to do it. Sweat, breath, pee, and everything else. No matter how much Water I drank my pee was so dark, so I'd asked him about it. I'd definitely have yourself checked for a UTI though, the leaking sounds serious. Edited July 13, 2015 by LadyRouge
