This is definitely an amazing journey. For so long I just wanted to be at the end of it, but now I am enjoying the process so much (except for the Mayonnaise incident last Thursday) that I don't want it to end. Which is good, but it won't!!

As for bat wings -- my trainer said mine will go away as weight comes off, but he has me doing some extra arm work now too. He even noticed I'm getting a "biceps line"!!!

Most of the people I'm around today - didn't know me before I had my first surgery for the lapband 8 years ago - so they still see me as being overweight. Those like my family, and the friends I had in PA before moving to Texas really notice it and comment on it. They are all supportive - those that I've made down here though, just kinda go - oh you're going to the gym... have you lost any weight? and when I tell them they just nod their heads and go well I'm sure if you work harder you'll lose more. Makes me miss my friends up north more :P

Hot Damn you look great! I love the Bob cut on you... I plan on cutting to a bob also if I get an issue with thinning (fingers crossed, none yet)

I have been fat and thin both. I lost to under 150 lbs with the band, and I definitely got the attention you mention. Door held, strangers in the store striking up a conversation, etc... I attribute some of that to weight, but I think the way you carry yourself after losing that weight also has a lot to do with it. That new confidence boost puts a brighter sparkle in your eye, an easier smile, and a little extra pep in your step. People naturally respond to this!

@@LisaPunkinHead I'm glad you are enjoying it! I must have missed the mayo incident?! My husband is bringing me home the Bowflex Blaze tonight so we shall see how that thing goes. I'd love to get my arms in shape on my own and save the money!

Elode you look amazing!!

And it's very strange that some people in your life wouldn't acknowledge your weight loss success? It's like they aren't happy for you or that they wanted you to remain big (for whatever reason).

@@wheezysmom First, Thank you! I don't know? Why would anyone want someone to stay big and unhealthy?! People are strange creatures.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
