4 minute workout

Recommended Posts

Thats not bad at all. There is a place like 30 minutes from my house with one but that is way too far for me to drive for $60 a month lol. Now if I could find something closer I might be willing to try it.

I agree. One of the reasons I'm so willing to try it, is that it's a BLOCK from my office. Very convenient. I'm not sure I'd drive 30 miles to try it.....

So, are you going to continue doing all of your other exercise too? Or just do this ROM??? Deanna

I'm going to continue with what I've been doing PLUS the ROM. I know what results I've been getting from what I've been doing, and maybe this will help step it up.

I think as long as you supplement it with your regular exercise habits (assuming they are more than "8 minute abs") it's fine. The 4 minute workout on its own is only going to make your wallet lighter.

I'm still doing the 4 Minute Workout....the biggest thing I'm noticing is that already, I have a lot more stamina, and when I do my stretching exercises, I have better flexibility. I can't even begin to describe how a workout on the ROM machine feels....

That is good news!!! I was actually thinking about that machine and wondering how it was going!!! Do you think it has made a huge difference or do you think it is the exercise all together that is making the difference???

Well....unfortunately, my eating is out of control right now, so I am at a standstill right now in my weight loss....HOWEVER, since I've added that to my regular exercise regime, the other stuff I'm doing seems easier. Bike riding, walking, exercise dvd's....it's all getting easier.... I also gave them a referral, and earned a free month, so I get to try it out longer for FREE!!!!!!

SO, basically, I paid the $42 sign up fee, and have my first two months free. I'll take it!

I'd be real curious to see what would happen if you ONLY did the ROM for a month or two! I find it hard to believe that the gym would make such an investment if the thing didn't actually work (it's the only machines they have!). I've been a skeptic for lotsa years....but usually questioning the status quo! I find this very interesting!

Please keep us posted!

I will! I'm telling you, I come out of there with my heart pounding away, sweat rolling off me, out of breath, and shaky. I recover fairly quickly, though, but I find that any other exercise I want to do for the day, I better do BEFORE I go do the ROM, because I'm totally wasted afterwards... My muscles are SO tired for HOURS after...

I am not doubting the sweat and heart rate. I just don't know what kind of workout it really is with your heart rate only being up for 4 minutes. That is what I am skeptical about, not the fact that it is a good workout and makes you sore. I would too be interested in knowing what would happen if you stopped doing all the other exercising that you do and see what would happen. Also, the other exercising getting easier might not be from the ROM but that you are getting stronger and more stamina in that particular exercise. I sure hope it is the ROM, cuz 4 minutes would be a great way to go!!!! I think I will print out the info and take it to my exercise physiologist and see what he says. Maybe he can verify somethings. Good luck and keep on sweating!!!

Well, I didn't say SORE, I said TIRED.... Also, I'm doing exactly the same things I was doing before I started the 4 minute workouts, that I've been doing for 6 months, and up until the last couple of weeks (since starting the 4 minute workouts) I've started noticing differences in areas where I hadn't seen any difference in since I first started exercising. I'm starting to think that there really is something to it.

I'm as much a skeptic as anyone else, though, which is exactly the reason I haven't stopped doing what I was doing before.

Okay, so presuming you've been at this ROM thing for about a month now... What's the story, TravelGirl? And how, exactly, did you discover there was one local to you? Tell me you've found the miracle machine so I don't have to start back on the treadmill now that all our "vacation activities" are over! :biggrin1:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
