I'm having an issue with this too - I'm still on stage 2 liquids 2 weeks post op and I'm living off plenty of Water, Jello, broth and Greek yogurt but I can barely make through an 11 oz premier shake which would typically hold 30 grams of Protein. I don't feel nauseated by it - just can't bear the taste and I tried other shakes and this is by far the best. I feel great but I'm on the fence at not getting enough protein.

When I was on Clear Liquids I ate a lot of Soup (ProtiDiet Tomato basil and creamy chicken), and drank/ate over crushed ice ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates. Fortunately, I was able to drink premier Protein.

When I was on full liquids I added cottage cheese and Greek yogurt to the mix.

I also liked the GNC Lean 25 orange cream flavor shakes.

Keep trying different brands and flavors. You've got to get in your Protein.< /p>

okay, 11 ounces for 30 grams is not the best there is by far. Try Syntrax products. dont buy premade, they always taste worse. I suggest the Syntrax sample pack at www.s103.com the fruit flavors are just awesome. use Water or if you need to use unsweetened Decaf iced tea, use 1 % , skim or unsweetened almond milk with the sweets like chocolate and vanilla etc. I get 30 grams of Protein in 5 to 6 ounces of liquid. you can find my taste test videos in the video section or by clicking on my name etc.

personally the fuzzy navel ( peach) lemonade and iced tea are awesome, and i pretty much live on the Cappuccino. which i mix with 1% milk and 3 or 4 ice cubes, then blend and instant iced coffee drink! Also dont drink so fast. slow and stead wins the race.

You can do this!

There are loads of ways to get good Protein in. If you eat meat, poach a chicken breast, then puree it. Thin it down with low sodium chicken broth.

GENEPRO (which I am not a fan of) and Isopure make unflavored whey. I add it to Soups, coffee, tea, veg. broth, yogurt, etc.... 1 Scoop of Isopure is 26gms of Protein. I think there's another brand of unflavored whey, but I can't recall it. I also like Isopoure teas in the RTD bottles. One bottle is 40gms of protein and that counts towards your Fluid intake. I split one bottle into thirds and add it to my 20 Water bottles. 3 of those a day and I've gotten in my fluids AND a good portion of my protein.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
