I am at 7 weeks out and eat my three meals a day with one snack. I have been finding the last couple of days that I feel hungry in between meals, I don't know why, I eat enough, stop when I feel that I am getting full, not going to make myself sick. Is anyone else going through this?

I am 9 weeks out and yes I have the same issue!!! Trying to keep on track is hard when I am now hungrier! My NUT said it was ok to snack just do the Protein first! If I crave sweets she said to have fruit with protein first!

I have been drinking more and also tried the fruit thing. It has been satisfying my hunger between meals.

I am 4 weeks out and having no trouble getting my liquids in, but serving size per meal is 1-2oz. I have gotten sick twice when I tried to eat over 2 oz. NO FUN!

@@nuzzlebear40 - I like your plan and wish I had been given guidelines like that. I have just been stumbling along trying to figure out how much I can eat and it is different nearly every meal. When it comes to meat, the best I can do is 1/2 oz. All I have been able to tolerate is deli turkey, maybe a couple of bites of chicken (from Soup or something very very moist) and a few bites of tilapia. Of course that is all with bites of other things but in general I average about 1/4 cup. I am 9 weeks post RNY tomorrow.

I've had questions and worries myself - I'm 12 weeks post-op now and I am up to about 3/4 - 1 cup of food per meal. I actually called my dietitian (Canada) just yesterday to discuss the amount of food I'm able to take in and the fear of stretching my pouch. She assured me that as long as I'm at 1 cup or under, and paying attention to eating healthy Protein first and foremost, I will be fine. She said that the dreaded stretching of the pouch won't happen unless I am not being mindful and reverting back to old habits (i.e. eating junky, fattening food and in the kind of amounts I did pre-surgery on a regular basis).

Initially I ate about 1/4 cup at one sitting and I think by 6 weeks I was up to about 1/2 cup. A gradual increase is normal and to be expected because the pouch will naturally stretch on its own (words from my dietitian) but the key longer term is to not eat more than 1 cup at any meal.

I really feel better now having talked with her. Good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
