So I'm 8 days out and my plan calls for puree. I've had refried Beans, baked ricotta and tonight about 1 oz of mashed up baked tilapia. No problems. I've also had no problems getting my fluids in. I feel like I should be grateful but I'm almost concerned that it's too easy! Far easier than my lab band food phase in. Can anyone relate?

Congrat I'm eight days out you just gave me a good idea wat to eat for dinner 2nite

No problem! Please let me know how it goes! I was surprised it was so easy, granted I was super cautious and only ate a bit weighing and measuring everything!

I was the same way. I just kept seeing the weight come off and the doc said everything was good. I told the doc short of getting that gurgle when I would drink I felt like all he did was poke me with sticks. He laughed and said that he did but then he cut parts of me out too. Lol. He was great. My recovery was a breeze. Be grateful.

I agree, be grateful. So many have a rough time. I also didn't have any issues and I continue to do really well as I add things back into my meals. Congrats!!

Just want to say I'm jealous of all you people getting to eat "real" food! I'm 9 days out, and my surgeon is super strict, so I'm supposed to be on liquids for a full four weeks. I can't wait to eat beans! :) Or anything, really.

My surgeon was awesome and it didn't have a pre op liquid diet and after liquids for two weeks I was cleared to eat whatever I wanted.

I have to say I do know something happened because of the nausea that occurs sometimes.

I am out on Day 9. I also had a lapband ( I was banded in 2003) and was revised to the Sleeve. I am on 14 days of full liquids and then 2 weeks pureed food then 2 weeks of soft food, then on to real food...I hope! I don't think the doctor is strict I think it is smart. and I also did a 2 week pre op liquid diet.

I am able since Day 6 to know drink up to 64 ozs of Water a day. and can drink about 6 to 8 ozs of liquid before I am full. I am wanting some real food, but also having been thru all of this before with my Lapband, I know it will come in time and no need to rush. But I am dreaming of the day I get to try a piece of steak....being I have not had steak , pork or white chicken meat in about 12 years! but I have waited this long, I can wait a little longer.

be patient and give your body time to heal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
