Why can't we have caffeine? I don't know the true reasoning behind it.. is it gonna hurt me? I have a toddler ....if you catch my drift.... ????

I drink unsweetened tea every day. Hasn't hurt me. It's the only way at first I could get my Water in. Water made me sick first few weeks.

It dehydrates you....according to my nutritionist. It's very difficult to get the required amount of fluids especially in the beginning....coffee will not help the situation. I was allowed coffee post opp...but somehow my love for it died. It just didn't taste the same

I'm 6 days post op. I have a 1 year old and 3 year old. I REALLY miss coffee. Did they tell you when coffee will be okay? Or is it something we can't have permanently?

I had my first cup of coffee after 9 months, and it was AMAZING.

My doctor said it was okay after 4 weeks. I tried it early and it did not go well so I'll wait another couple of weeks and try again.

I don't really care why we aren't supposed to have it. My doctor and my NUT said don't do it..... So I'm not going to do it. They are the professionals and I trust them. As for energy, get sublingual B12 liquid 5000 mcg. It works for me

I haven't had any caffeine since my surgery a week ago. My NUT said that caffeine may stimulate your appetite. I'm surprised at how well it's going without it, I was a 4-5 cupper.

I'll see how long I can survive without it. Lol My toddlers have way too much energy and I can't keep up with them.

Caffeine is an appetite stimulant.

Mine allowed coffee on discharge from the hospital. I have had no issues.

Since there are such widely divergent perspectives on the subject, you need to follow the directions you get from YOUR doctor and nutritionist.
