Someone is Irish dancing in my head and my breath smells worse than my Labradors farts

Recommended Posts

Or am I just on Day 4 of the pre op diet.

People were avoiding me today at work, I could see them recoil. I asked my closest work buddies, who I see out of work and they said my breath was okay. I'm sure I took off a couple of eyebrows and some facial hair from them. Gee wizz.. On the plus side I am being left alone to crack on with work lol

Hugs

A very smelly headachy Kate

The real question here is what exactly have you been feeding your Labrador?

The real question here is what exactly have you been feeding your Labrador?

The Candidate always knows how to keep things in perspective. :)

Then the next natural leap in logic is that you are obviously eating something that stinks worse than whatever you've been feeding your Labrador. ????

I did nearly buy chocolate on the way home from work for 'stress' relief until I remembered I couldn't and wouldn't.

It did make me think though abut how many times I might have done that without even thinking.

You and me both. I normally plan my life around fast food and sweets. I'm working hard to tackle the urges. You can't stop the thoughts but you walked away from temptation and that says a lot.

I told my boss that I apologize in advance for any negativity that I might display due to my lack of food intake. She laughed at me.

This is something I will really have to work on - not making food the focus of every occasion. In the past, even when I was skinny and eating in a healthy way, I would think about food ALL THE TIME!!! I would even wake up in a panic after dreaming I had been eating "bad" foods. I have a tough road ahead...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
