Journaling is the key to success

Recommended Posts

I cannot emphasize how important it is to track your food and liquids. Every time I have hit a stall, I have been able to look back and see what was different. Twice it was because I wasn't getting enough food in. My nutritionist was able to look back through MyFitnessPal and see the issue. Tracking keeps you accountable for your choices. I went through gastric bypass which as most of you know is NOT FOR SISSIES and I decided that it would be so stupid to go through all of this only to end up where I started by gaining weight back.

You have to choose to be diligent about tracking. You have to choose to want to be successful. Choose wisely!!

Thanks for the tip! I'm at my first stall and feeling frustrated. Strict journaling makes a lot of sense.

I agree. I was told by my NUT, that the most successful "losers", track everything they eat and drink. That means measuring, counting and weighing everything, too. There is no room for estimates. It's a pain in the booty, I know, but it holds you accountable for what you are putting in your body.

I plan to continue tracking indefinitely.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
