T.Whitaker 26 Posted July 8, 2015 I am 12 days out and my follow up doctors appointment is tomorrow where I get released to have soft foods. For dinner tonight we had Breakfast. I scrambled an egg put a little bit of cheese, salsa and sour cream on it and it was delicious. I did have a little pain warning me I was full after 3 bites. My daughter tasted it after I push my plate away and loved it. Hope I don't get in trouble for that tomorrow. I hate the pain! It's evil! But at least for the most part it happens rather quick before you really overdo it! I am most excited for when I don't get pain in my chest from drinking water... FeelinGood2015 23 Posted July 8, 2015 I used to eat eggs in any fashion at least once a day. I can now eat hard boiled, fried over easy, and poached, but I absolutely cannot stomach scrambled eggs. No matter what I try, I just can't do it. And I used to LOVE them. Oh well...????
muzical1 85 Posted July 8, 2015 No problems two weeks post op for me. I was at a restaurant with family. Was nice to have something to chew while they pigged out. LOL
_Kate_ 2,224 Posted July 8, 2015 I had a dream last night that a big poached egg was chasing me down the road. I should stop reading the posts about food Kate
maggie409 765 Posted July 8, 2015 I started soft foods at three weeks and I had soft scrambled and it was great. Had it with a small amount of refried Beans. It sat very well

tacha22001 38 Posted July 8, 2015 So went to my follow up appt and he was fine with me eating eggs and Beans. My family decided to take me to lunch after my appt since I graduated to real food. I had a cottage cheese and Tomato salad. Oh that red delicious wonderful fruit how I miss it. Tomatoes I love them and am so happy to be able to eat them again. BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted July 8, 2015 At what stage did you try an egg? Did you scramble it? Or no? Did it sit well? I'm craving eggs but only in my puree stage still. Advice? I tried it on week 3, purees. I made a really soft scrambled egg with a bit of greek yogurt and shredded cheese mixed it. Best thing I ever had.
HelloKitties 1 Posted July 9, 2015 On my third week, I had an over easy egg with some shredded provolone and a little salsa. Delish . It was pretty filling though
Stevehud 1,790 Posted July 10, 2015 heres the simple answer, you cant have anything your surgeon didnt tell you was ok. everything else do not listen to. no one here is your surgeon and cannot give that advice. Stick to the plan. you can and will make it happen.!

RickM 1,752 Posted July 10, 2015 As noted above, go with what your surgeon's plan permits - that's what you (or your insurance.....) are paying for. On my doc's plan, I was served scrambled eggs in the hospital (not my favorite form though,) and had boiled eggs the first week home.
BigDaddyJG 67 Posted July 10, 2015 What quantity did you start with? 1 or 2 eggs? Not sure what will fit but curious what others eat.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted July 11, 2015 I couldn't eat a whole egg when I started out. Maybe 2/3 of an egg. I still can't eat 2 eggs and I am over 2 years post-op.
