I tried a scrambled egg during the purée stage which was 3 weeks after surgery. It sat like a brick in my stomach. But It never made me nauseous. I found poached eggs went down much better at that stage. I now eat scrambled eggs at 3 months with no problems.

My dietitian has said week 4 for me, not before. Everyone seems to be told a different thing and I guess it’s also to do with the person and what they can accept at that stage too. eggs.... mmmmmmm ( sorry on pre-op liquid diet lol)

I was in my 3rd week when I started puréed food and tried scrambled eggs. I mixed my egg with ricotta cheese or with cottage cheese before cooking (which I still do). It keeps the eggs light and fluffy so they are easy to get down. Added bonus: extra protein!

I was allowed poached and scarmbled eggs in puree stage, which started 4 weeks post op for me. They caused me no problems. I really liked melting some cheese and hot sauce into my scrambled egg.

I am 12 days out and my follow up doctors appointment is tomorrow where I get released to have soft foods. For dinner tonight we had breakfast. I scrambled an egg put a little bit of cheese, salsa and sour cream on it and it was delicious. I did have a little pain warning me I was full after 3 bites. My daughter tasted it after I push my plate away and loved it. Hope I don't get in trouble for that tomorrow.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
