Exercise for the sake of exercise

Recommended Posts

It sounds like you need more stimulation and maybe not necessarily exercise. Do you have a hospital nearby? They always need volunteers and you can volunteer for as little as four hours a day one day per week. Or at the library they have reading programs where you help people learn how to read it only takes an hour or two of your time or however much you want to put in. How about volunteering a few hours a week at a homeless shelter? Sometimes you just need to get out of your own head and into something else and volunteering is a great way to do that. In fact there is a volunteer website that you can put in your zip code and it brings up all the opportunities around your area. I'll find it.

I'm looking for things that burn ALOT of calories, but also are productive in other ways. My metabolism is such that I need to burn alot of calories plus keep my intake low in order to maintain. Being disabled and in a poor, rural area limits opportunities. For now, what I have been doing, is work out as hard as I can throughout the morning, then keep busy/moving the rest of the day. I'm checking that volunteer site, right now, thank you!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
