CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted July 7, 2015 I have been thinking of this for awhile and finally tried it! Salsa is hard but bachata is fun! It is too bad so few men like to dance but I hear that the"salsa scene" is less like that. I have also found a place to practice my very limited swing dancing skills so planning on those social dances too. I am really looking forward to getting a bit more confident and brushing up the few dance skills i do have!I am not in a relationship right now, trying to avoid diving into one..just taking it slow. It is a great time to work on stuff I want to do/get better at.
Nyelaah 77 Posted July 7, 2015 (edited) Good stuff!! I am Dominican and LOVE to dance bachata... It's fun and great workout--especially the really fast one called "tipico" Edited July 7, 2015 by Nyelaah
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted July 7, 2015 Congratulations, this sounds like lots of fun. I used to take a bellydance class at a local dance studio and there was a waltz club that met right before our class. I loved to watch them because they looked like they were having so much fun. I am looking forward to being able to take some dance classes in the future.
lauraellen80 855 Posted July 7, 2015 Awesome! I'm hoping that my back and hip pain will be resolved enough soon to start doing some swing dancing and taking some modern dance classes again. I miss dancing so much!

slvrsax 301 Posted August 7, 2015 @@CowgirlJane I've heard great things about Salsa N' Seattle on Stewart downtown. Sometime in September they have some 2 hour Saturday workshops, been thinking of going to one myself!

Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted September 30, 2015 You are all so lucky when you live in a big metro area that offers all sorts of dance classes and dances. . I would love to attend one of the dance competitions that some of my teachers have gone to. Dancing opens up a whole new world of men. If you're a good dancer, the men will notice and want to dance with you. It's the lead and follow thing. If you have a good lead, he can really make the follow look fancy. They like women who are good follows. There is this one really nice woman who used to teach dance, and now teaches at the community college. When she shows up to one of the dances, the men line up to dance with her. I can't wait to get the go ahead from physical therapy to find out which dances I am released to do!
