Soooo I'm like 5 weeks post op from a sleeve but for the past two weeks I started cycle but has yet to end .... now I haven't had a cycle for years now (I have the iud) but since surgery I got my cycle and hasn't stop... I feel fine and it just like a light to medium flow like a normal one but it just hasn't completely stop. I wonder has any of these happen to any one or should I be concerned?

I am also 5 weeks out and just got my period again since the one a week after surgery. I AM ANNOYED. I also have an IUD. Luckily it is no where near as horrible as it was before the IUD....I had serious problems with cramps and always having a heavy flow. I think you better call your OBGYN and see what they have to say. That's no fun at all.

That's very common. I read somewhere that hormones get trapped in fat and as you lost the fat, the hormones get released. My cycle is all messed up. Some times I get it every other week, every two weeks, 1x a month, for 10 days, for 15 days etc.... it's all over the place. I'm on the nuva ring and am supposed to be able to stop my cycle at will, but that idea has gone out the window! On the bright side this means your losing fat. Yay, go you!

@@snowkitten thank you so the comment. That put me at ease now. It's like I'm on a never ending period on top of the 3 week stall I read so many people are having -_-. Lol the ultimate combo of horror :)

I've had a period every couple of weeks since having my surgery in May. It's aggravating! Hoping it balances out eventually!

I guess this is now happening to me. I was sleeved June 12. I hadn't had a period in 5 years bc of depo and I've had an iud for 3 years. A week after surgery, I started spotting and now I'm having a full blown cycle. It is frustrating. I was worried something was wrong.

Annoyed at my gynecologist now. I called the office yesterday and the nurse said she'd have the doctor call me and she never did. Probably should just ride it out and pray I stabilize soon! 2.5 weeks now on my period!

I am the opposite for now. I got my period a week early when I started pre-op diet which was fantastic as I should have had my period during surgery which was on June 17th. NOW I was hoping my period would come back before I go away and there's no sign of it coming. No pms no cramps (which were horrible) NOTHING. I wasn't on any type of birth control as I wasn't active soooooo I don't know what's going on. I am thrilled of course but hope it doesn't make an appearance when I go to Florida.

Had my surgery on 4/27 and had my period during preop diet. I am not on BC but my bf is fixed. Well...no period for 3 months! But, just started again yesterday on my flight back from Bahamas. My periods before we're always very heavy and lasted 7-10 days. This one seems lighter....hoping shorter too!!

Wow three months! I hope it stays away that long for me. Yes mines was also very heavy and lasted 5-7 days along with at least 3 days of horrible cramps. This remindes me of when I gave birth..... my aunt fliw was away for about 3 months and I was in heaven.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
