I am almost one year out on July 23. Just curious what Vitamins you all are taking? I have a dr appointment soon and sure he will go over everything that I need to continue.

I'm taking two Multivitamins, folic acid, and two calmags daily, alone with Vitamin D 3 times weekly, and B12 injections monthly. Plus IV Iron infusions as needed. But to be fair, I have had absorption issues long before the surgery. :)

I take B12 (500 mg daily), calcium chews 2 x per day, and the Bariatric Advantage multi. I also take mega red krill oil, cause I don't need cholesterol meds anymore. I also take Biotin, even though I am no longer losing my hair.

There is no "scientific" proof, but I felt better taking it. I did lose hair, but it wasn't horrible and it didn't last long.

Thanks for your help. I have done pretty good with what I take. A multi, b-12, Vitamin d, Biotin, Iron and Calcium. I don't take iron like I should. I tend to forget. All my levels test out great I was just wondering what all everyone else has to take:)

I take Vita4Life Multi-Plus and I take 4 per day. My surgeon recommended I take Vita4Life products because I simply can’t stand chewables. I've had nothing but great results with them. I take their Chelated Calcium. Multi-standard, and sublingual B-12. I swear by these Vitamins. I was speaking to someone there the other day when I placed my order, and they’re coming out with chewables shortly. I believe she said they estimate 1-2 months. You may want to check them out if you prefer a chewable?

I'm under 2 years out and I don't take any supplements.

My daughter however, has Grave's Disease and she takes the hair and nails Vitamins for Hair loss. It does seems to help. But the cause of the hair loss is different than our so IDK if that makes a difference.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
