QuilterGal 216 Posted July 6, 2015 Major rave for my husband. We have been together for nearly 20 years and he's witnessed my weight difficulties first hand. He's been through a million diet attempts with me. I'm a month from surgery and he's become my biggest cheerleader. The other day he said we should start saving money for all of the new skinnier clothes I'm going to need. And he said at some point I may want to get a boob lift if the girls are too saggy for me. I know this surgery scares him, but he's starting to get excited about how healthy I'm going to become and how much happier I'll be. I also think he secretly is excited that I'll want to go to Disney with him more!
Mountaingal 322 Posted July 6, 2015 So happy for you. Years ago when I first thought about doing this my husband was so against it I gave up on the idea. Now he is right there with me (surgery is on the 17th). It would be wonderful if lots more of us got his type of support from our spouses. Hope you enjoy your new clothes, trips to Disney and a boob job if you want one..
ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted July 6, 2015 month from surgery and he's (hubby) become my biggest cheerleader. other day he said we should start saving money for the new skinnier clothes - at some point may want to get a boob lift. @@QuilterGal yep, he's a keeper but he's also the lucky one to have you some people don't get any encouragement from family, friends having hubby in your corner giving you lots of support is great he's already aware that you'll be needing/buyer smaller sized clothes (don't go overboard on buying new clothes - your size will continue to go down) many people go to the rescue mission or thrift store - you can find nice clothes - some even have tags on them good thoughts being sent your way best of luck next month kathy
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted July 6, 2015 Hubby and I have talked about how my obesity was a disability for us both -- a real "family disease." Mostly, when I was overweight he was so worried about me. He is so relieved and happy for me now that I'm not overweight, agoraphobic, not participating in life, and not feeling well. And naturally, I'm so happy to relieve him of that burden he felt. Aren't some of our husbands just the sweetest!?
