Oh please do @@pippinleicester, it’s good to get a balanced idea as to what might happen before, during and after WLS :D

I'm still shocked to hear some of the Americans have surgery, be out hours later, then fly or drive home, sometimes both, taking hours and hours to get home. I know for a fact, I couldn't have done that in the first day :o

I went out this morning, had my nails done, went for a walk and a bit of shopping and feel tip top. Still full of gas though but in the scheme of things, that's a walk in the park.

Great to hear you are doing so well, as it is still very early days. I've created a Ticker for my signature to help speed things along a bit! I have a busy week with my family next week, followed by hospital appointments the following two weeks and then the Big Day. If my op goes half as well as my UK sleeve buddies I'll be very happy!

@@Soodoo You have nothing to fear although of course that is exactly what you do !! The surgeons have done this operation many times and it helped me to think that every time I got into my car to drive I was taking a much bigger risk. It just helped me keep it in perspective. You have a wonderful journey in front of you, where you are free from being under the lash to your appetite. My very best wishes to you Pippinleicester.

That's such a lovely message Pippinleicester - thanks so much! I can't wait to be where you are!

I found out this morning that a friend in Australia was sleeved four months ago. She's only told a small handful of people, so I'm looking forward to being able to chat to her soon. I've just seen a photo of her and it is unbelievable!

I think I've mainly been focussing on the actual operation and haven't really thought too much about how much weight I will lose, as any weight loss will be good.

Thanks again for your encouragement

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
