msgal2181 11 Posted July 6, 2015 Hi I'm new here but I've been researching and wanting WLS for two years and my husband started a new job and his insurance will cover my surgery. My BMI is over 40 and I had a brain tumor removed in 2012 and have been working with my PCP for years trying to lose weight and have lost 10 then gained it back. I have hypothroidism. I was just wondering if my PCP appointments would count as the supervised weight loss appointments that are required. My husband works work Glaxosmithkline if anyone is familiar? I'm going to see Dr. Woodman in Memphis, Tn Tuesday.
beuTwithin 34 Posted July 6, 2015 I have Aetna too and yes they will use your weight from previous appointments, however I did still have to do 3 month
beuTwithin 34 Posted July 6, 2015 Of visits where they monitored my weight, I didn't have to lose but I couldn't gain any weight. Also you will have to meet with the nutritionist each visit and psych. Luckily for me my practice was all inclusive to include lab so when it came down to pre op with pcp I just needed an X-ray to get clearance. Best of luck to you.
