I was sleeved on June 13 and prior to my surgery I was only ever eating 3 meals a day. Now that I can finally incorporate solids in to my diet, I can't seem to eat the recommended 5 times a day. It's just too much for me. Is this okay? I drink my Protein Shake in the morning and try to incorporate lots of Protein at meals but other than that, it's Vitamins and Water for me. Not sure if I'm okay to proceed like this or not. I eat slow and am not over eating (except one time and boy did I pay for it) I just don't want to screw this up!!

First, you should always discuss these issues with your NUT. I was sleeved on June 8th, just ahead of you. I am eating 3 oz of soft meats such as chiken salad, baked ricotta, and baked fish. It is a learning experience. One bite too many and it;s trouble!

Thank you. The weight is slowly coming off but im wondering if it's a bit slower cause I'm not eating 5 times a day and my metabolism is slowing down. Just my thoughts anyways but I appreciate your advice thanks

Some of this depends on your Protein goal. Since my goal is 100 grams of protein, if I didn't eat more than three times a day I would never get it all in. At a maximum of 20-25 grams per meal that means I have to plan meals and Snacks throughout the day.

I kind of feel weighed down and sick if I eat more than 3 times. Especially with all the Water I'm drinking.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
