Hi everyone. Im 26 days post op and have been cleared for foods. I have gained about 3.5 pounds since starting on foods, and have been told that this is a normal occurance. I walk 3-4 times a week about 3.5 miles, and feel as if im being careful with what im eating. The scale is not moving at all, and ive seemed to be in a stall. is it normal to stall this early? do I need to adjust some of my carbs? I know for a fact that im not meeting the Protein or Water requirements, could that be the issue? I feel soooooo lost...

My 1st reaction is that you've hit the famous 3rd week stall that most of us have gone through.

I can give you the guidelines I had for my diet and you can compare them to yours.

Eat no more than 800 calories/day.

Eat 75% Protein and 25% carbs.

No processed foods or foods that have added sugar.

Eat lean Protein sources - chicken, pork loin, protein shakes/powder

Eat only carbs that come from vegetables.

And walk at least 30 mins. a day.

That was the plan I received from my doctor. I went through stalls - almost 1 every 6 weeks. I learned the hard way to stick with my diet and exercise and the weight will start dropping again.

A couple of things I learned.

*processed foods will cause me to stall

*fruit will cause me to stall and have head hunger.

So I stick to meat and vegetables as much as possible.

Good luck. Be Successful Right NOW! Here's what to do right now.
Take the 1st step to reach your goal. No matter how small, overcoming inertia is the hardest part.

Starting strong requires extra force and power to overcome inertia, but makes life easier in the long run. Plan, prepare, schedule, prioritize, and take action today.
Move fast. Get momentum on your side and get the ball rolling.

There’s never been a better time than right now. If you want to fix your life, it’s up to you, and it starts immediately. You CAN do it. We’ve seen it done by people in worse circumstances than what we’re going through right now. If they can do it, if they can overcome massive obstacles, if they can change, so can we.

I would also add to take your measurements if you haven't already. Even when we are stalled inches are coming off. We focus so much on the scale and it frustrates us. I am thankful I took my measurements before surgery because when I stall I can still see changes. Good luck!!

Not sure if this will help but I did my measurements yesterday and in 2 weeks I only lost 4 pounds but lost a total of 4 inches (added up from neck, arm, waist, hips, thigh and calf).

Taking my measurements today. I really wish I had taken them before surgery, but the next time I stall I will have something to compare my progress

I would also add that you should keep a food journal if you don't already do it. Also, I use My Fitness Pal to keep track of my calories, Protein, carbs, etc. I also wear a Fitbit to keep track of my liquids & steps. My daughter is tied to my Fitbit on line so she sees what I'm doing & she fusses at me for not walking enough. I think the mother/daughter relationship has been reversed. LOL

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
