It will all happen, it takes time your body is adjusting to the new tummy you have. You will feel all those things in due time and be able to distinguish hunger, fullness etc. For now it is working perfectly for the time post-op you are. Trust the process friend

@@amsaf, welcome to the club! And part of that club is "WTF am I feeling???"

You're only 5 days out. At that point (just over 10 days ago for me), I was struggling even with Clear liquids. Pain is common, or at least "weirdness" with every sip. Burping is common. Gas is common. Feeling tired and wondering if this will ever get better is common.

If we looked on the bright side, we'd see each day as a new gastrointestinal adventure. Barring that, I think we've just got to accept that we're going through a process with lots of bewildering stages. We've got to take it one day, one meal, one minute at a time. If I didn't have that attitude, I'd be pretty depressed. And why add insult to injury?

It does get better. I'm figuring more stuff out every day. I can actually drink pretty normally now.

Hang in there. You're going to be fine!!

I am just over three weeks out. I don't have any pain but I do still struggle with knowing when I cam full. I don't feel any hunger so I have to remind myself to eat! But I met with my nutritionist last week and I described to her that I stop eating as soon as my stomach does "anything".... not meaning gurgle though as I believe it will be normal for the stomach to do a lot of that from what I am reading from others. At three weeks, I can still eat very little. I ate a little bit of cottage cheese and a few bites of fresh peach the other day and that was the first I could def feel my fullness.

What you are going through is totally normal. I actually wondered after my surgery if I truly had been sleeved because I didn't feel full, didn't feel hungry, didn't really feel anything. It took a good 3 to 4 weeks before I started to feel semi-normal. I have been able to get in my fluids and Protein without a problem, but I certainly feel my restriction now that I am on normal foods. It has been amazing to not have my entire day revolve around food anymore. My stomach is loud and gurgly now LOL, but it is a very small price to pay for great success!! Stay the course I promise you will feel "normal" soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
