kabertoson 5 Posted July 3, 2015 Hello everyone. I am seven months post op sleeve. Everything has been going great, I am down 80+ pounds and overall feeling great. Of course I've had my share of stalls and passed through them. My current issue is I cannot seem to shake this feeling of being dumb. I find myself unable to remember things at work that I should know. I e mailed my NUT asking if there may be something missing in my diet. However, with the holiday weekend I won't hear back until next week. I feel like I am going crazy. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted July 3, 2015 I was in a brain fog right after surgery. I don't know exactly what may cause your issue other than the usual culprits: dehydration, stress, fatigue and/or a Vitamin deficiencies (or age!). Definitely check with your doctor. In the meantime make sure you are hydrated and get some rest. Maybe someone else has insight.
OKCPirate 5,323 Posted July 3, 2015 Start a diary on this. This information will be very helpful to your medical team. Document when you lost/forgot something (date and time). Keep a food log too. If it's a nutritional deficiency, they will be able to spot it. If it is something more, at least this will be safely ignored. There are so many possible things that can be going on, just saying it's just food is dangerous. Please be patient with your docs... when you present with memory issues you are getting into a murky area of medicine where the "art" is just as important as "the science." The more hard information you can give your docs the better they will be able to help.
woo woo 872 Posted July 3, 2015 100 percent agree: go see your primary doctor about this.
swimbikerun 1,046 Posted July 4, 2015 B1. Other B Vitamins. I have those problems in droves. I solve the issue by writing everything down.
