MamaDDDD 0 Posted July 2, 2015 I am just shy of three months out and do not have a stricture but have difficulty eating food. I chew to a pulp but when it goes down I feel nauseous and vomit. Please tell me this goes away. Please tell me that it gets easier to consume food, albeit smaller portions. I'm seriously regretting my surgery.
dhrguru 1,238 Posted July 2, 2015 I'm sorry this is happening to you. What surgery did you have? You're further post op than i am, so I can't estimate if it will or won't get better. I assume you've been in contact with your surgical team?
foodfighter78 258 Posted July 2, 2015 How did you rule out a stricture?
MamaDDDD 0 Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) I had bypass. My surgeon said since I have had the ability to chew and swallow ground turkey, and a few other foods the chances of a stricture this far out are slim. Edited July 2, 2015 by MamaDDDD
foodfighter78 258 Posted July 2, 2015 Well that doesn't rule out stricture, I had a stricture after 4 weeks, the only way they see it was because I insist so much on having an endoscopy, when finally the gastroenterologist told me I had a stricture, my scar tissue build up so much I had a pin hole left for food and Water to go down. It took them 4 weeks to figure out after mri and xray with liquid. Didn't show until I had an endoscopy.
