Back to Running After Tummy Tuck + Panni

Recommended Posts

I was an avid runner -training for a marathon- before my TT & panni. Now at 8 weeks post op I finally felt strong enough in my core to go for a run. I only went 2 miles, it hurt like hell, and I'm still feeling it a day later. But I'm getting back out there tomorrow morning again.

I have a 1/2 marathon in October that I need to formally start training for (starting at 3 miles) on July 27.

Has anyone had a TT/panni & returned to running? How long did you wait? How did you ease back into it? How long until your core didn't hurt anymore when you ran?

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

It was a good 3 or 4 months for me. Really set me back.

Are you doing a full marathon? I'm doing a half at the end of September, a half in November and the Honolulu marathon in December. I'm going to be a running fool!

Following. Wow 3-4 months! I had mine 3 weeks ago 2 weeks after my first marathon. Was hoping for a half in October and another in December and Ragnar relays in October and November. Perhaps I am being optimistic!

I ran a 15K nine months after my lower body lift and breast lift. It took a lot of training, but I was able to do it.

Just listen to your body. There is a lot of inside healing going on inside your body. Healing requires energy, which takes away from the stamina/energy which you need to run as you were accustomed to.

Try to give it a little more time and be patient with your body. You will get there.

Happy running,

Sweet Pee

Nine months? Were you a runner pre plastics? I ran a marathon two weeks before my plastics and have my first post plastics half scheduled for four months out. Hoping I will make it!

Yes, I was a runner pre plastics. My speed was slower, but I finished!

Isn't that what counts: Setting and Reaching our personal goals.

My goal was crossing the finish line.

You can do it!

Wow! Sure hoping it doesn't take me that long to get back to it! I've already got four fall races scheduled ????????

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
