Apparently the best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning after a wee.

My weight is always about 4llbs difference. It doesn't really matter though, just make sure you weigh at the same time of the day and you will be able to map your weight loss :D

Hugs

Kate

Oh big time. Pre-op it could be 7-8 pounds. Now 2-3. My last baby I remember getting scolded one month for gaining 10 lbs in a month and then getting scolded the next month for "dieting" and losing 11--it was just afternoon vs morning appointments but no one believed me!

probably Water retention - may want to look at salt intake if you retain a lot. mine fluctuates 2-3 lbs. Ten pounds seems like a lot unless you are weighing in your birthday after your first trip to the bathroom and your other weigh-ins are fully dressed with shoes and after you have ate and drank Water.

Of course it does! Between eating, drinking, additional Water, clothing....you name it. That's why I only weigh first thing in the morning and disregard what the scale may say in the day. The difference can be huge sometimes!

Oh, and not to be gross, but I've weighed, gone poop, and weighed again after. It can be a half a pound difference sometimes! Lol...

Why weigh yourself 3 times a day? Yes your weight will fluctuate between waking up, noon and evening. Perfectly normal, everyone's weight does this. Your AM weight, especially after visiting the potty tends to be your lowest. Your body is coming off and 8 hour fast. By noon and evening, you've eaten and had liquids. Step back from the scale.< /p>

my weight goes up and down like 10lbs too. I just always get on the scale when I go to the bathroom. Its exciting to me! I love losing this weight and it still has not set in yet! I do notice when I get my full day of Water and Protein though it does not go up and down as much.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
