So i loooove the Quest chocolate chip cookie Protein Bar but they are pretty pricey so i want to know what else is out there. I try not to eat anything with higher sugar then Protein so thats what im aiming for. Im a sweets person so anything sweet is what i like the most.

There are not too many out there with the same quality of Protein at a lower price. I like Quest, Premier Protein, pure Protein and think thin bars. They all cost about the same.

GNC has sales on the Quest bars buy 3 get 1 free. If you have a gold card you will also save. I have used the Quest bars most of the time for a way to get Protein if I am on the go. Not all of the flavors are great but I do like the chocolate chip cookie dough, dark chocolate chunk and coconut . Good calories to protein ratio . lowest amount of sugar.

My absolute favorite is Atkins bars. Specifically, I loooooove the Peanut Butter Pretzel bar.

You don't find the atkins bars too high in saturated fat or fat in general? That's the only thing that has turned me off from those bars. That and most of them are really high in calories.

No, they fit nicely into my meal plans most days.

I like Pure Protein strawberry or Blueberry ( 19-20g and 190-200 cals.) I can get these on sale for 10 for $10 at my local Fry's Grocery( same as Kroger stores for those who have Kroger). They are good in a bind when I may have forgot to pack a snack or if I cannot leave work for some reason. I am not a fan of chocolate or Peanut Butter flavors, but that is just me

you won't find better quality than Quest.

Read the ingredients. Many bars are just junk food disguised as "healthy"

The calories weren't worth the Protein. Many of them seem to be a replacement for a candy bar for me and a trigger.

That is why it's important to look at the ingredients, and Protein content. There are plenty of bars that are 200+ calories with less than 15g of Protein and 12+ sugars, and half the ingredients are chemicals I can't pronounce. Be wise and read everything:-)

Also all post on here are what works for us, we are all different in our journey and what works. I have taken some suggestions that worked wonderfully for me and others that just didn't. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
